Who We Are
We
are a group
of residents of Glen Ridge and other nearby communities who
enjoy getting together to build lifelong friendships and to experience
the pleasure
of providing volunteer service to others. We meet every
Thursday for lunch and a regular program is provided by our members.
Rotary
International is an organization devoted to
providing a wide range of services throughout the world; that puts
high standards of conduct into practice in the business and
professional lives of Rotarians; that identifies needs in our community
and responds with service
projects; and that works for international peace by promoting goodwill
among all peoples of the world.
Specifically, here are some of our programs:

Purchase
bulletproof vests for every Glen Ridge
police officer.

Sponsor
students from Glen Ridge High School each
year to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership
Assembly (RYLS)
conference.

Sponsor
the annual High Honors dinner to recognize
Glen Ridge High School students on the High Honor Roll.

Give
a dictionary to each Glen Ridge third grade
student.

Donate
annually to Glen Ridge High School Project
Graduation.

Participate
in collecting turkeys and other food
items at Thanksgiving for distribution through the
Community Food Bank.
Donate
a scholarship annually in memory of Robert
Lowe, former club president -

Sponsor the Gift of Life Program to fund
medical treatment for heart
and related problems in babies and young
children who do not have access to such treatment.

Contribute
to the Polio Plus Program to
eradicate
polio throughout the world.

Contribute
to Rotary educational fellowships to
send students here and abroad.

Contribute
to exchange student
programs.
-
Collect
used bicycles for Pedals for Progress,
a program to
send bicycles to needy people in developing countries.
